FLASH!!! Salem Piper Bagpipe Sales and Marketing is now alive and well. Intended primarily for supplying local pipers and bagpipe bands, we are able to ship outside of the area as well.
We will continue to build the sales web site, so please have patience as I'm not a real "techie", when it comes to IT projects.
If there are specific items that you want now, please contact me and we'll see if they are available to me at this time. If not, I will apply to the makers or distributors for a sales agreement with them.
I do offer local pipebands and their members some generous discounts, so contact me to discuss your needs.
Thank you for your patience, I hope to have a full service online store available in a few months.

TVF&R will be playing with the Drop Kick Murphy's concert, in Portland, Oregon, on June 28, 2011, 8 PM. They have also been invited by the Dublin Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums, to help them celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Dublin Fire Brigade in June of 2012. The Brigade has sent out a tune list to the participating bands and band members are learning a new series of Irish tunes for the celebration. It should be a great time by a very supportive Pipe Band that has played numerous venues here in the U.S. Check back for updates on this.

Firefighter pipers and drummers in the Pacific Northwest have banded together to form a new organization, the Northwest Firefighters Pipe Band Association. After months of discussion among members of fire bands in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho; Seattle Firefighters PM Spencer Nelson proposed an organizational meeting, which was hosted by the Seattle band on the afternoon of February 6, 2009.
The aims of the NFPBA are to foster communication and information-sharing, develop agreements for the handling of LODDs, identify common tunes and settings for use when bands in the region play together, and organize periodic social functions. The organization is informal, with no officers, dues, or secret handshakes...but it does have a pretty cool logo designed by Tualatin Valley's pipe sergeant and graphics guy, Scott Sullivan.
Creation of the NFPBA follows a recent explosion in the number of fire service pipe bands in the region. Bands currently exist or are being formed in Bend, Eugene, Salem, and Tualatin Valley (OR); Pierce County, Seattle, Snohomish County, Spokane Valley, and Vancouver (WA); and Idaho Falls (ID). In addition, attendees at the February 6 meeting learned of several new bands rumored to be forming.
The Association is pleased to announce that the Portland Police Highland Guard is joining the NWFPBA as an "ex officio" member. The Highland Guard was invited to join in recognition of the positive working relationship formed with regional fire bands over the course of the two recent law enforcement tragedies in Washington state, as well as their status as a regional public safety pipe band. The ex officio designation acknowledges the non-fire nature of the band, but will allow them to participate in association activities and communications. Welcome aboard!
Plans are underway for an Association meeting, to be hosted by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue sometime in mid-to-late February. Agenda items will include a review of the recent LODD massed band events in Tacoma, a briefing on a band clinic being tentatively planned in Vancouver (WA) later this year, and continuing discussion on massed band tunes for NWFPBA member bands. A date will be announced as soon as a location can be confirmed.
